race fuel budget engine advice needed

Basically ok looking into building a engine for my 89 Camaro. Looking to build something that's race fuel only. My local track ha 105 110 118 then methonal. I'm thinking either 383 or 396 Stroker sbc. I'm not looking for this to be to powerful but a good engine to build using junk yard parts. I'm going with a forged rotating assembly but not sure what else i need.

I'm looking for 600 horsepower roughly if possible. Any tips to point me in the right direction or good reads?
