Hey all, coming at you from downunder. I've got myself a 302W in my 4x4 and i'm looking to do some mods. Basically its got a CJ5 jeep 3 speed and transfer in it, and ends in 4.11 gears. So gearing is short. I've bought a weiand model 1988 tunnel ram and a set of headers for it. Basically the motor is stock standard, and i'm just going for looks. It's pretty much a aussie billy bubba redneck kinda thing.
I've got the adaptor plates to go from square bore back to 2 bbl and am thinking about a pair of 350 holleys. It's only a street cruiser. it's a big, heavy over weight 4x4 with a 3 speed manual and short gears. so no prizes on the drag strip. The parts i've bought are starting to roll in, but am stumped on the following:
1) How a standard 302W (with headers) will run with a pair of 350 holleys
2) How to properly vacuum advance both carbies
3) Approx what jetting and power valves i'm going to look at
4) Whats the go with being told the standard distributor won't clear the ram
5) Anything else I might need to know??
I'm pretty much a back yarder type, but love getting my hands dirty and trying things for myself. I don't want to buy a rod. I want to build one. I've got my own very distinct taste in what i'm chasing. Plus the car i'm starting with is rare as rocking horse s**t as there was only 432 made in the world.
Any help is much much appreciated.
Thanks, Alex.
