So, we've got an original '67 Gm 327 with all the original gear (save for a PCV, but I'll get to that. The car has cruise control (non-functioning... we think?) and A/C as well as heater.
A couple years back we started getting some smoke out of the exhaust and some blow-by coming out of the breather on the oil-filler tube (mounted at the front of the intake manifold).
As time went on, this problem got much worse. We were afraid we might have blown an oil-ring, and did not have the cash to pay for a professional rebuild.
Recently, a few mechanics have suggested that it could be much simpler problems such as a faulty PCV or a bad vacuum leak. Perhaps anyone has some insight? The car can run (albeit rough), but we get a lot of blowby from the oil filler tube as well as moderate smoke from the exhaust pipes. The block DOES have a road draft tube, from what I gather poking around at it (although I have little knowledge about this piece of equipment). It runs to the carb as a vacuum line, and there is a PCV halfway along the tube which appears to have been added by the last owner.
I'll go grab some pictures now.
Thanks for any help you can offer!
