hi all . thought I would start a new thread on this as I asked the question on my older one but its got a bit big now .
so the story to now. had oil in plugs 5 and 6 last weekend. worked out it was poor gasket seal between inlet and head and seems on the suck stroke 5 and 6 where pulling oil in . looked at valve guide oil seals, and look fine, heads are brand new. car has done 3 miles with nominal idle time, comp test showed all 6 pistons to be 127 but 5 and 6 @ 100 , so as I want to dyno my engine I have bit the bullet and pulled it out to check this issue and then send the engine to dyno for full set up and break in etc. am happier this way , as also had water in oil which was from front part of inlet to head gasket seal , have took advise on previous thread from mr "tech " and will buy 2x sets of gaskets and will torque and leave over night and double check good seal . any other suggestion let me know ??? felpro head gaskets look 100%
ok so I have hydraulic lifters with crower roller rockers ( stainless steel ) there is a guy here that I am hoping to take the engine to who says why use hydraulic lifters as your guessing ? he suggested solid lifters . I have a crane supercharger grind cam , part number I have is c-444551 I also think there is a adjustment problem as I have black stains within the inlet manifold , I was running rich so not sure if that would cause it aswell ?
so if ok to use hydraulic lifters what is the best way to adjust and tighten and do I then double check when oil pressure has been ? may be far off the mark here
we ordered a adjustable push rod to measure then ordered 16 @ 8.100 which are pro series 5/16
will also double check my keith black hyper ring gaps again .
lastly I have heard about MLS head gaskets . whats the feelings on boost pressure up to 10psi with head gaskets of felpro or MLS ?? as I need to order some up asap
cheers all !!
