Hello, I will be replacing my tired engine in my truck
with a crate 350
and have a few questions.
did g.m. change the bolts to metric the new engine is the '96-02 vortec 350 and the old engine is a pre 86 ('81 f body 305 slug to be exact)
at the
flexplate bolts_________
balancer bolt__________
the crank pulley bolts____________
I know the intake bolts are different, got those.. but not sure if I'll be able to just swap over the ones listed above, the flexplte bolts would be new,I'd never reuse them.
if the balancer bolt is metric thread is it a one use bolt or can I just snag one from a junk yard?
also at the bellhousing area pass side there is a drilled and tapped hole with a hole drilled part way through above it.. any idea what that was for?
