Hi Everyone, I have some 350 questions.
My son has a 85 Olds Cutlass, with a 350 that the casting numbers indicate a 1979 G20 van.
I am tearing it down to do a top end on it, as it will not time correctly at all, so I am replacing, Cam, lifters, gear set, timing chain and putting a HEI back in it, for some reason the guy that put it in there left the points distributor in it, even though the wiring harness is a HEI harness.
I am a Mopar guy, and have never actually torn down a 350, (feel free to ridicule me now)
I have searched on how to set up the valve train after I put it back together, and everyone talks about the lock nuts or the hex adjustors on the rocker studs and to adjust them down so there is no slack, then go a quarter turn more or so.
These have no lock nuts or hex adjustors, looks just like one hold down nut on it. pictures below, do I just tighten them down?
