I have a 327 engine from a 69 Camaro that I had rebuilt and installed a Edelbrock manifold with a 1406 4 barrel carburetor & hei ignition. At present it has ss shorty headers that may be tossed so it's not necessary to include them in the equation. It is going in a 96 Dakota chassis with a 47 International KB1 body.
I want to maximize any gains for hp but most important is sound since this is a ground up resto and will be a driver and not a trailer queen.
What size dual pipes, X crossover? headers, muffler, etc. from front to back.
Sound wise, I don't want to hear a loud roar when traveling, but I do want a nice exhaust note when accelerating.
I have several shops nearby but don't trust them to choose the proper install for my truck. Any help is appreciated.
