Ram Jet 502 Coil

Hi,
I was hoping someone can help me.

I'm building a 26 Cadillac with a 502 Ram Jet.

I'm wiring the car now, and need to mount the coil but don't know where to put it. I'm assuming it has to go on the firewall (right side just above the head?), but I don't think it will look too good there. Can the coil mount on the inside of the firewall in the car?

Also what is the max length from the coil to the distributor.
