The last three days of reading has my head spinning. My 383 has busted 4 of the pistons 2nd ring lands and from the info I researched either timing or fuel has contributed to this. I usually read and figure out my own problems but seems to be to many variables for my first motor and I.
A quick run down for help
eagle stroker crank
eagle 6" I beams
30 over kb hyper 7cc flat tops
edelbrock e-tec 200, 2.02, 1.60, 64cc
comp xe 268
comp roller tip 1.6
performer rpm air gap
750 demon
msd hei with blaster coil set at 34 total
Static is 10.5:1 and dynamic is 8.8:1 quench at .040 and from what I read when starting this motor 11:1 seemed to be the threshold for pump gas and within the last 3 days learned I might be flirting with disaster. This is in a street car that will see the strip once a month so hopefully I haven't just missed the mark.
It seems to run fine under normal driving but does not like high rpms and I didn't hear any spark knock when it started smoking.
