hi all
I have a Porsche 928 with a 350 chevy in it, but I also have a 4x4 truck which has a poorly range rover old school 3.5 v8 engine in it. the head gasket has gone, my thoughts are that as the 928 is well engineered with the trans axle (gearbox to the rear) with irs and only weighs 1400kg that im thinking of ditching the rover v8 and putting the chevy 350 from the 928 in the 4x4, which leaves me to choose a fun engine for my next project car ( mustang pretty much done now )
so I have been looking at the ls engines. seems the ls6 isn't very easy to come by over here in the uk. but I would like to lighten up the front of the 928 as originally it had the porky alu v8 block in it. I brought it after it had been converted due to a engine fire and insurance claim. the owner couldn't get on with it being a chevy v8.
so instead of throwing money and fixing up the range rover v8 I would freshen up the 350 chevy and place in the 4x4 and then put back in a aluminium block v8 to the 928.
wanting to go fuel injection. will be doing a wide arch and wheel conversion to the porky 928.
opinions on what engines? ls ? other alu block v8s ??
cheers
