does anybody have any experience with working on these heads? I had a machine shop tell me that 4 out of my 8 cylinders on my heads were dead . im hoping to get some opinions on this because the valves haven't been cleaned nor have the intake ports had all the carbon removed . It seems like it could just have some build up preventing the valves from seating rite. I brought my rotating assembly to him to have it balanced and hes already got the work to be done up to $1,300 and counting . he hasn't done anything yet but ive got to give him a answer in the morning on what to do . he also mic'ed all my cylinders on the block and he said they are in perfect shape but still hes saying he has to hone it or my rings wont seal rite but my pistons and rings are all the exact same measurement as the old ones so i don't know. I've seen some people say don't hone it and others say do . i would like to get some of your opinions on this situation . im also thinking about doing the valve work myself do to tite budget im on . thanks
