Flat Head Dodge Straight 8 - Looking for period dual carb intake and performance tips

G'day Guys,

This is my first post so I hope that I am not posting this in the wrong section. (Please forgive me if I am).

I am building a 1930 Dodge Straight 8 Roadster which I plan to use for the Vintage Sports Car Club championship and tarmac rallying over here in Australia.

There are two things I am looking for assistance on, firstly I have recently learned that there were period dual carb inlets made by Edmands and Thickstun for Chrysler straight 8's. These have the same block and port spacing as my Dodge (I am 99% sure). If anyone could give me any ideas on where I might find one I would be very grateful. I was going to fabricate one, but a period speed shop one would be so much cooler.

These are some photos from another forum of the Thickstun

Secondly I am after any tips specific to building a warm Chrysler Flathead / Inline 8

My current plans are as follows
-Have the block professionally ported
-Make new rods including slipper shell bearings
-Convert mains to modern slipper shell bearings
-Convert to a full flow oil filtering system
-Raise compression
-Use fairly light weight pistons
-Install a much more aggressive cam (specs to be determined)

The aim is to get about 130-150hp against the standard 77hp.

Also this is a photo of the car a few years ago, a the timber frame has been built and some panel work has commenced since.

Thanks in advance.

Stewart
