I have what I believe to be a 1984 250 straight 6 out originally out of a 1/2 ton. Its bolted to my engine stand right now. It has the intergrated exhaust and intake manifold cast into the head and a 2 barrel carb. The exh manifold is cracked right at the bend on the port behind the carb and I was wondering if i could pick up an older non intergrated head and bolt it up?
Are the older non intergrated heads interchangable with this newer block?
Is there a specific head I should be looking for as far as casting #?
What is considered to be the best straight 6 head?
Just looking to build a solid motor, I dont have any hopes of making this a performance 6. Any general advice on this swap idea appreciated.
