fuel pump pickup an fittings

I am upgrading the fuel tank in my 1986 olds cutlass with a tank from a buick gn. I am putting an intank electric pump in. I am running a new 3/8" feed and return and was thinking about having two -6 AN fittings welded on the pickup to adapt to the larger line. Problem is though it does not seem like I have a lot of clearance above the tank for a 90* AN fitting. Are there special connectors that are more shallow compared to other an fittingsso I dont have clearance issues. My other thought was to bend my new line like the factory did and just remove the old pipe drill a larger hole and epoxy or tig the new line in place. Any ideas you guys have?
