where to put it (the Engine)

i just bought a 31 ford rat rod, that has a 4x2 tube frame there is 19 3/4 " between the rails. It has a narrowed ford 9" in the back and a mustang 2 front clip on it with rack and pinion. it had a 350 & 350 mounted in it once before. So it had mounts welded to the frame for the center side mounts. ( to much chance for misalignment) .
I want to put a 350 & 350 back in it. BUT my 350 has a 671 blower on top so i want to use the type of motor mount that hooks to the front of the engine like a big horse shoe and then bolts to the frame (with rubber cushions). Some one called it a boat mount. that's the type of mount my T bucket had on it (where the engine came from). it was very easy to work with and i think it will be much easier to do the fabrication in this case. (keep it all straight)

SO my question is where should i put the engine. the car is mainly for show but it will have a lot of GO.
On my 67 Camaro the front of the engine lines up about 2 to 3 inches in front of the center line for the front tires.

Is there a rule of thumb ??????
I want to move it as far forward as i can to make room for the cab, (the last guy just cut a big hole in the firewall. But i have a blower to think of) but i do not want to give up drive-ability ( ya I know its a RAT ROD but still)
