I have a motor that's been sitting for about 6 months outside of the car. It was kept in a garage so out of the elements, but still exposed to temps around 30 degrees or so. Motor was stored with the intake and exhaust covered and in a dry environment. Stored with fresh oil in it. Its a built 355 with 10.5-1 compression and about 2000 miles on it. My question is what steps should I take before I start this motor up? I've heard of pouring trans fluid or spraying wd-40 in the spark plug holes and letting it sit overnight and soak into the rings, but on an engine with that compression ratio, I don't know if the oil wold have disastrous effects if I started it wit hit in the cylinders. What should I do?
