I am in process of rebuilding my 1968 390 ford FE motor. Machine work complete. Bore 0.030 over, crank main and rod 0.010 under. Edelbrock cam intake 0.460 lift / exhaust 0.480 hyd cam. Iron heads completely rebuilt. I will be using it as a daily driver, 5000 rpm max. Do I really need a hi-volumn oil pump?
I have heard stories of pump throwing all the oil in the heads and not in mains where needed. You guys have been of great help, need advice one more time.....:)
