I have a 1998 Chevrolet c1500 5.0L Vortec it has 263,627 original miles on it. I love the truck don't get me wrong but I don't like the computers in it. it seams I know i need to change the Cam and Crank sensors and maybe a few other things but any way. I would honestly love to take the computer out and switch it to the old style cap and rotor. It's ridiculous that a part that weighs less than a half of a pound will stop the truck from running, like the ignition control module $80 dollar part, all because of the stupid computer. And as far as i know the transmission is also computer controlled my the PCM if this is possible would I have to change the transmission or get a special part that is made just to run it, or can it run its self? :confused:
