I am getting what I think is a lot of oil in my breather tank that my vac pump feeds to. How much oil should I be seeing in the tank? Originally the guy who installed the pickup for the pump in the valve cover had it down low on the side of the cover. Also the fitting was just a fuel cell fitting, so just a straight through hole. I thought the excess oil was from when the top end fills with oil. So I changed the pickup to the front of the valve cover, up as high as possible in the top corner. Also used a "bulkhead breather bolt" - not sure if thats the correct name but its basically a bolt type fitting that on the inside only has holes on three sides of the hex, so it should actually flow oil. I was expecting these changes to result in less oil in the breather tank, but its pretty much the same.
